Our Stories - "Love us the same, hold us the same"
101 Hastings Street South, Hastings
Mirror Exhibition:
Too often we seek validation from external sources such as social media, society, friends and family. Our mirror exhibition is a wero to pause, look at your reflection and appreciate all parts of you.
Our Stories:
Our stories is an evening of music, poetry, spoken word, dance and storytelling by local Takatāpui, MVPFAFF+ and LGBTQIA+ individuals. It is a whānau event and is open to all ages.
We are afforded an intimate, honest, raw and beautiful window into their lives through different means of creativity.
Guest Speaker: Elizabeth Kerekere - fierce advocate for Takatāpui people.
Note: The term ‘Rainbow communities’ in Hawkes Bay is inclusive of all cultural gender and sexuality identities including but not limited to Takatāpui, MVPFAFF+ and LGBTQIA+ communities. The term ‘Rainbow communities’ is used interchangeably intentionally to be inclusive but also specific to the intersection we are focusing on - Māori, Pasifika & Rainbow.
