Hard-edged paintings with startling precision and dramatic shapes, is how Hawke’s Bay artist Leanne Morrison’s artworks have been described. Commissioned by MTG Hawke’s Bay, Leanne has created a large-scale painting directly on MTG’s foyer wall.
Since graduating with a Masters in Painting Leanne has shown successfully at in Dunedin at Milford Galleries and at Hastings City Art Gallery. Working on the wall is an entirely new challenge which, says Leanne “removes a barrier for the viewer, allowing them to get 'closer' to the work”.
