1. Waimarama Beach - A much-loved beach by locals, Waimarama Beach caters for all beach-goers.  If you're keen for a family day out, surf, swim or fish, this golden beach has you covered.  Bring a picnic, your water gear and hunker down for the day. The Waimarama Store is just down the road for fish and chips or an ice cream when you're done!
   
   
2. Ocean Beach - A popular spot for surfers and families, Ocean Beach is less developed in comparison to its neighbour, Waimarama Beach.  The area boasts an equally beautiful stretch of golden sand which is backed by rugged green hills waiting to be explored by all adventurers.  If you're feeling a little energetic, there is a great walk; head north along the beach (approximately 8 kilometers) to Whakapau Bluff.  From here you can reach the Cape Kidnappers peninsula by wading across a sandbar at low tide.
   
   
3. Waipatiki - This beach is a hidden gem only 35 minutes north of Napier City that is perfect for a day trip.  This spot offers swimming, surfing, fishing, and diving.  On most days the water is so clear you can see your toes!  A fresh water stream cuts through the sand and is a perfect place for kids to have a paddle.  If you want to stay longer, book a spot at the campground that is within walking distance to the beach.  You'll be waking up to the sounds of birds chirping in the native bush and promised striking sunrises over the Pacific Ocean - idyllic!
